Some resources

Hello Grade 2s

We hope you are healthy and staying safe :)

Here are some optional resources and suggestions on how you can continue learning from home:

Math:

Art and Games for Cognitive Flexibility

Inquiry:
  • Work on your design thinking challenge for the Arctic. Work through the ideation process and prototype. For fun, if you want to build your prototype and send your teacher a picture, we can post it on the blog!
  • Check out this fun movie about life in the Arctic - David Suzuki and the Nature of Things follows two different groups of polar bears: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5eseix
  • Explore some other options for documentaries such as Planet Earth, Frozen Planet, and Human Planet. These are all amazing documentaries where students can continue to make connections about what we have done in the class and to the world.

Writing:
  • Continue writing your arctic stories
    • Type up on google docs and share with your teacher
    • If you would like a picture of your storyboard, email your teacher

Welcome to Ms. Quesnel's blog

Hello!

I've had a great week getting to know the students and working with them on exciting learning tasks!

In math we have continued to work on our subtraction strategies, we are working on increasing our fluency in math so we can calculate numbers in our head more automatically. We have been working very hard to finish writing our arctic stories, most of the students are finished, or close to finishing We had the opportunity to design and build something to help with a problem facing the arctic.

I know the announcement yesterday took everyone by surprise, as we move forward we will communicate what the CBE has planned for students and teachers.  Keep an eye on your email and this blog.

The best way to get in touch with me is skquesnel@cbe.ab.ca, I check my email and  do my best to respond in a timely manner.
